ok I read the basic tutorials followed several to learn new things and then went out on my own and made this. It is still very basic but I like it. Be honest and let me know what you think.
I created this with 3 layers, no masking or making drop shadows. I still need to read the howto on masking and how to make shadows.
original rendering is 8000 x 6000 @ 719 dpi. I had to reduce the quality to be able to upload. The rendering took me 2 hours to complete. Does it improve the quality to increase the max iterations to 100000 and the additional precision to 30?

the only thing that I have seen is raising the iteratins to 500 will 85% of the time remove the black dot created in the center of spirals..... This is GREAT work.. I'm a newbie also.. looking for some tutorials on lsayers and shadows
